Legislation

Current Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 specify that all companies are required to provide a suitable means for the disposal of sanitary dressings in ladies washrooms.

The Environmental Protection Act 1990 places a ‘Duty of Care’ upon waste producers, and it is therefore their responsibility to ensure that the management, carriage and disposal of controlled waste is correctly carried out.

Our comprehensive service ensures your legal responsibilities are fulfilled through the regular safe disposal of nappies and sanitary dressings. We issue all of our customers with a ‘Duty of Care’ Certificate that shows that your waste is being handled and disposed of in the correct manner. This certificate is a legal requirement and must be kept for a minimum of 2 years.

The Water Industries Act 1991 also states that no items that can be harmful to the sewer or drain can be flushed away.
